Alison has a strong background in triple bottom line and sustainable value measurement, and likes to work on projects where environmental, wellbeing and community factors need embedding into decision processes.  She is a key provider of NEF Consulting’s organisational culture and wellbeing programmes.  Her expertise lies in monitoring and facilitating complex change processes for sustainability outcomes.

As co-ordinator of content for NEF Consulting’s training and capacity building services, Alison is a skilled learning and development practitioner.  Her trademark is designing courses that grow both participant’s technical ability in evaluation as well as their personal leadership.  Alison has taught and designed education programmes at scales of one-to-one to over 300 participants.

Before joining NEF Consulting in 2013 Alison advised on, and managed strategic planning projects for major businesses including sector leading approaches such as Interserve’s 2013 SustainAbilities.  She applied her skills in a portfolio of projects that include work with thought leaders, such as Jonathon Porritt and Common Cause, household brands, government bodies, national media and NGO strategy teams. She is particularly passionate about collaborative and co-production techniques.

Alison has an MA in Leadership for Sustainable Development (Forum for the Future and the University of Middlesex) and a 1st Class BSC in Human Sciences (the University of Sussex).

Out of the office she loves exploring by bike, teaching swimming, tree climbing and finding wild waters to jump in. She collects coloured pens, tea-bags and other shiny things she discovers in different corners of the world (a bit of a magpie).

Alison is currently on secondment developing new opportunities and assisting our partners in Melbourne, Australia.

Recent project experience:

  • The Devonshire Group (Chatsworth Estate): producing their first sustainability report using innovative metrics to understand the organisation’s total social, environmental and economic contribution.
  • Sustainable Development Unit: design and production of a triple bottom line infographic showing the co-benefits of sustainability action taken in the health and care sector
  • Shelter: using our participatory Wellbeing at Work employee engagement survey and improvement process for Shelter’s 1500 staff.
  • One Ilfracombe: training and mentoring staff and partners in triple bottom line evaluation and building a forecastive value for money evaluation of their multi-stakeholder programme.
  • The Travel Foundation: production of their organisational Theory of Change illustrating how they transform the travel industry to be more sustainable.
